Two people lost their lives when a rainstorm struck Dokan Mai Jama’a community in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State on the evening of 4 May.
Strong winds ripped roofs from buildings, brought down walls, and left more than 50 houses in ruins.
Residents rushed to find shelter with neighbours after the storm passed.
Alhaji Hamisu Tukur, the village head, confirmed the details.
He said many families now have nowhere to stay and need urgent help.
Local officials have visited the area to see the extent of the damage.
Affected residents have called on the Kaduna State Government, as well as NEMA and SEMA, to provide relief materials and support for rebuilding.
This incident comes as communities in parts of the state continue to face challenges from heavy rains at this time of year.
