Six people died when lightning struck a group on a farm in Dadiri-Tirigali village, Ganye Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
Police received an emergency call from the Ganye Divisional Headquarters on Sunday around 4 p.m.
Officers moved quickly to the scene and found nine people on the ground.
Medical personnel checked them and confirmed six deaths while three regained consciousness.
SP Suleiman Nguroje, the command’s spokesperson, issued a statement on the matter.
He noted that the group worked on the farm when the thunderstorm hit during rainfall.
Authorities have taken charge of the situation. Families now prepare to receive the bodies.
Officials urge residents to stay safe during storms in the area.
