Yankamaye community in Tsanyawa Local Government Area of Kano State came under assault once more on Tuesday evening when a group of over 30 terrorists rode in on motorcycles around 6pm.
The terrorists opened fire on residents, leaving five men dead and four others hurt in the incident.
Locals say this marks the second time the community has faced such violence in five months, as similar groups continue to operate along the Kano-Katsina border area.
Eyewitnesses described how the men arrived suddenly and targeted people in the village.
Families buried the deceased the following morning.
No one was taken away during the raid.
Security forces, including police and members of the Joint Task Force, have since moved into the area to search for those responsible.
Residents note that response times can be slow because of how remote the location is.
This latest event has left people in the community worried about their safety, with many calling for stronger protection in the region.
