The Government of Alberta issued an emergency alert Thursday afternoon for a missing child in Calgary.
The alert came after the Calgary Police Service requested it. The GOA granted an exemption so CPS could send the alert.
According to the alert, 11-year-old Parker went missing in the community of Thorncliffe on Thursday, July 16 at 12:52 PM.
CPS described Parker as a white male, 4’11” tall and 90 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes. At the time he went missing, he wore dark shorts, headphones, and no shirt.
The alert included instructions for the public. It said if people see Parker, they should not approach him. Instead, they should keep watching and call 9 1 1.
CPS asked residents in Cambrian Heights, Thorncliffe, North Haven, Highwood, Highland Park, Greenview, and across Calgary to check their property.
Officials also told people to follow CPS social media for information and updates about the case.
The alert went to phones across the city Thursday afternoon.
