Terrorists entered Oreta community in Ikorodu on Wednesday evening and left three people unalived, including a 22-year-old man and a physically challenged child.
Terrorists arrived on motorcycles and opened fire in the area.
This came hours after local youths had a confrontation with a trailer driver during the day.
One youth lost his life under the vehicle’s tire in that earlier incident.
Community members say the evening incident caused panic and forced many businesses to close early.
Residents described hearing rapid sounds as the group moved through the streets.
Police later took six people into custody in connection with the events.
Officials have not yet released a full statement on the situation.
Transitioning from the daytime clash to the evening response, locals noted that tensions rose quickly in the community.
Many people stayed indoors as the situation unfolded.
