Terrorists killed Colonel Abdussalam A. Ude after he resisted a kidnap attempt at his residence in Kurudu, Abuja. The attack took place on Monday evening.
Terrorists ambushed Ude as he stepped out of his vehicle.
They opened fire when he refused to surrender. The terrorists shot him multiple times at close range.
Next, the terrorists fired on members of his household.
They injured his wife, driver and security guard. Medical teams took the injured to hospital for treatment.
Ude served in military intelligence and counter-terrorism operations.
He took part in missions in Nigeria’s North-East as well as assignments in Chad and France.
Security agencies now investigate the incident. They work to identify those responsible.
The killing follows a similar attack on a retired brigadier general in Abuja in 2024.
Ude, a native of Enugu State, received burial on Tuesday at the Mambilla Mosque in Abuja according to Islamic rites.
