Police arrest a 47-year-old woman after she stabs four men in Covent Garden, London. Officers reached Endell Street around 12:27pm on Wednesday after calls came in about a stabbing.
They found the four men, aged 34, 39, 42 and 52, with stab wounds.
Paramedics treated them at the scene. London’s Air Ambulance also responded and landed nearby in Trafalgar Square, though crews took all four men to hospital by road.
Two of the men have left hospital. The other two stay there with injuries that doctors do not consider life-threatening or life-changing.
Police took the woman into custody on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon and assault.
She remains there. Officers recovered a pair of scissors at the scene.
Chief Superintendent Jason Stewart said officers arrived within minutes.
He added that early checks point to an isolated mental-health related incident.
A visible police presence stays in the area while they gather evidence.
Witnesses on the street said the woman moved from outside the Shaftesbury Theatre along Endell Street.
Local workers told reporters they recognised her as someone who often spent time in the area.
