One worker died and seven others suffered injuries when a canopy collapsed at the new Gombe State House of Assembly construction site on Friday.
The incident happened at the multi-million naira complex in Gombe.
Emergency teams rescued the workers from the debris and rushed them to hospitals.
Five received treatment at Gombe State Specialist Hospital while two went to Federal Teaching Hospital.
Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya sent condolences to the family of the deceased.
He directed the state to pay all medical bills for the injured workers.
The governor also ordered the Ministry of Works and engineering agencies to investigate the collapse and submit a report.
Construction crews stopped work in that section of the site.
