US President Donald Trump has warned Iran that the United States will target its power plants and bridges if Tehran does not accept a proposed deal.
In a post on social media on Sunday, Trump accused Iran of a total violation of the ceasefire agreement after its forces fired on ships in the Strait of Hormuz.
He said the action was not nice and declared there would be no more Mr Nice Guy.
“We’re offering a very fair and reasonable DEAL, and I hope they take it because, if they don’t, the United States is going to knock out every single Power Plant, and every single Bridge, in Iran,” Trump wrote.
“NO MORE MR. NICE GUY! They’ll come down fast, they’ll come down easy and, if they don’t take the DEAL, it will be my Honor to do what has to be done, which should have been done to Iran, by other Presidents, for the last 47 years.”
The latest tensions follow a fragile ceasefire that Pakistan helped broker earlier this month.
Iran first said it would reopen the Strait of Hormuz but then appeared to reverse course, prompting the US response.
The waterway serves as a vital route for global oil shipments, and any disruption affects trade for many nations.
Trump also noted that US envoys plan to hold further talks in Pakistan in the coming days.
Officials from both sides continue to discuss terms, though no agreement has emerged so far.
The situation remains fluid as diplomats work to prevent further escalation in the region.
Many observers watch closely to see whether the talks produce results or if the threats lead to new actions.
