Lakurawa terrorists attacked communities in Shanga Local Government Area of Kebbi State and set homes on fire.
The assault forced residents to flee and left entire villages in ruins.
Security analyst Bakatsine broke the news on X early on Thursday.
He named Kawara and several nearby villages as the main targets.
Houses burned to the ground and families lost all their possessions and ways of earning a living.
One resident called Salisu watched his home burn and lost everything he owned.
“Lakurawa attacked Kawara and nearby villages in Shanga LGA of Kebbi State, set homes ablaze and destroyed entire communities,” Bakatsine wrote.
“Salisu lost everything in the fire that engulfed his village.”
While the terrorists moved on, security operatives and local vigilantes caught up with some of them in Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State.
The two sides clashed and operatives neutralised several attackers.
The incident adds to a pattern of violence along the Nigeria-Niger border where Lakurawa operates.
Residents who escaped now face an uncertain future with no shelter and no immediate help.
Authorities have not yet issued an official statement on the number of people displaced or the full scale of damage.
