Terrorists have killed two residents and made off with their valuables in a brazen assault on a rural community in Zamfara State.
The attack unfolded on Wednesday in the northwest Nigerian state, where armed men stormed homes, opened fire and then ransacked properties before vanishing into the bush.
Local sources say the victims died on the spot, while terrified families watched as the terrorists carted away cash, jewellery and other belongings.
This latest strike comes as residents in Zamfara continue to live under the shadow of repeated violence.
Yet even by the grim standards of the region, the speed and brutality of today’s raid have left many reeling.
One eyewitness described hearing rapid gunfire followed by the sound of doors being kicked in, before the terrorists melted away with their haul.
Security forces have not yet issued a full statement, but the incident adds fresh urgency to calls for stronger protection in remote villages that often feel forgotten.
As night falls, families in the area are once again on edge, wondering where the terrorists will strike next.
