Terrorists abducted five people from Burkina Faso at a gold mining site near Arafa village in Zamfara State on 14 March 2026.
The terrorists arrived at the site around 11:15 a.m.
They came from the area between Arafa and Gidan Dankande villages and took the workers away to a location that remains unknown.
Security forces from the Operation Fansan Yamma base then reached the site.
The terrorists had already moved into the bush by that point.
Authorities now search the area to locate the five people and track the terrorists.
They work to secure the release of the workers.
Sources connect the event to mining operations across the region.
Terrorists collect weekly payments from the sites and use the money to buy weapons and support further actions.
