The Oba Otudeko Foundation launches festive-season aid, reaching over 500 residents in Odogbolu on Wednesday.
The Oba Otudeko Foundation kicked off a major food relief program on December 18, delivering essential items like rice and garri to more than 500 elderly and at-risk residents in Odogbolu Local Government Area.
This initiative marks the start of a statewide effort that targets 2,000 vulnerable families across Ogun State’s four geopolitical zones.
Ultimately, the program aims to benefit nearly 10,000 individuals during the festive season.
Foundation representatives first paid a courtesy visit to the Odogbolu Traditional Council.
Then, they handed out packages designed to ease economic hardships while preserving beneficiaries’ dignity.
Yewande Giwa, speaking on behalf of the foundation, emphasized the founder’s philosophy.
“Dr. Oba Otudeko, CFR, has always maintained that true leadership uplifts lives,” she said.
“This outreach meets needs in a way that strengthens communities and affirms humanity.”
Moreover, Giwa highlighted the seasonal spirit.
“We believe this time of year should focus on coming together and uplifting one another,” she added.
Dr. Oba Otudeko, an accomplished entrepreneur and founder of the Honeywell Group, promotes philanthropy through the foundation.
The organization focuses on education, entrepreneurship, and humanitarian aid to build resilient societies.
In addition, the program partners with local leaders to ensure effective distribution.
Subsequent phases will extend relief to other zones in the coming days.
Meanwhile, Nigeria grapples with rising food insecurity amid economic challenges.
Private initiatives like this one provide critical support to complement government efforts.
The Oba Otudeko Foundation continues its commitment to long-term social impact, blending empathy with structured interventions.
