Terrorists abducted a woman and her infant while shooting three others in a fresh attack on Gidan Tama community in Kaduna State.
Heavily armed terrorists stormed homes in Gidan Tama, located in Kachia Local Government Area, around 2am on Wednesday.
They fired shots sporadically, creating chaos as residents scrambled for safety.
In the end, the attackers injured three people with gunfire and kidnapped several others, including the young mother and her months-old baby.
This raid marks the second time terrorists have targeted the community in just 10 days.
Residents now live in constant fear, and many say the security situation in Southern Kaduna keeps worsening.
One local alert shared the grim details: “Last night around 2am, bandits attacked Gidan Tama community in Kachia LGA of Kaduna State.
Three residents were shot and injured, while several others were abducted including a married woman and her months old infant child.”
However, authorities have stayed silent so far.
Security agencies have not released any official statement on the incident, leaving villagers frustrated and vulnerable.
In the broader picture, banditry and kidnappings plague communities across Kaduna, despite promises from officials to step up patrols and crack down on these groups.
Meanwhile, reactions poured in on social media, where Nigerians expressed outrage over the normalised violence.
One user lamented, “This is not life that we’ve normalized.
No day goes by and Nigerians simply go about their businesses prophesying ‘God Forbid’ and ‘It is not my portion’.”
Another called for drastic action: “Bandit nor get where them sleep, if your serious you will find them and send them to 7 virgin.”
Even during Ramadan, the attacks show no sign of letting up, with one commenter noting, “Even in Ramadan period.”
As insecurity escalates, locals urge the government to act swiftly.
For now, though, families in Gidan Tama hold their breath, hoping the next night brings peace instead of terror.
